If you are a busy Internet user, then your Web browser will accumulate a lot of unwanted data. When you visit a Web page, any images or bits of data used to display a Web page are downloaded and stored on the hard drive in your Internet cache. This is so that the next time you visit a Web page this data is readily available and doesn't have to be downloaded again. It speeds up Web surfing.
Clearing the Cache and other information stored while browseing : As Internet Explorer is the most popular internet browser I will go through the cleaning process using that program its very easy and can help a great deal especially if its never been done before. First open Internet Explorer at the top of the screen move your cursor over the tools option and click, move the cursor down to Internet Options and click. A small window will open, here you can change all of your internet settings. To clear the internet cache move your cursor down to Temporary Internet Files and click on Delete Files you will be asked if you want to do this and click yes, thats your cache cleared. You can also clear cookies here ( recommedned ) and your Internet browsing history, have a look around to become more familar with the options.
Make sure your internet browser ( Internet Explorer, Fire fox etc ) are the latest versions available. Browsers are constantly being updated with security updates and other useful tools such as download managers. Check your browser's homepage for updates.
Possibly the most important thing you can do is use a firewall to stop any unwanted visitors and removal tools such as a spy ware remover and an anti virus program as mentioned on the previous page but these are no use to you if there are not updated with there latest security updates ( most programs have an automatic update option or a manual update option for you to do this ).
